For the love of the hand made, the slow made, the well made

Founder Lahna Anthony dreamed of owning a 'clothes shop' from when she was just a little girl - it took her 18 of years of being immersed in the Sydney fashion industry to fully understand the imperative of just what kind of clothes shop she would create.

Forever a lover of aesthetic, tactile, and rich experiences and surroundings, she set her sights on creating a concept store drenched in story and romance, values and integrity. Creating from her adopted town of Byron Bay, which instilled in her a deep-seated awareness of sustainability and ethical practices, she set forth to create a space that fostered  a more kindhearted approach to dressing yourself. With this in mind, fast forward to 2019 and we see the birth of JUDE, whose namesake comes from Lahna's own grandmother, who has always been an important example of brave women in a vastly conflicted but rapidly evolving world. 

In March of 2022, Jude's physical store was destroyed by unprecedented flooding. This only served to reinforce the importance and relevance of responsible clothing choices during these times of climate uncertainty. 6 months of repairs were undertaken, and a brand new Jude Store opened in September of the same year. With a fresh focus on honouring the journey to this point and evolving into a more refined version of the original seed, she's more herself than she ever was!

JUDE now works with over 30 independent, female-owned design houses. The majority of those are local Australian creatives, all dedicated to positive contributions to the fashion industry through transparency, regeneration, education, sustainability, and ethical practices. 

As with anyone on the conscious consumer path, our work is to keep improving, keep learning, and hopefully keep sharing with you more inspiring collections that allow you to not only creatively express who you are through what you wear, but to also have a positive contribution to our planet and its people.
